Welcome!

We're getting married on October 24, 2026, in Toronto, and we'd love for you to celebrate with us.

After more than a decade together, we're excited to gather our favourite people in one place for a day of good food, good company, and the start of our next chapter.

With love,

Emily & James

Our Story

We met in August 2014 as Residence Dons at Queen's University. Between late-night rounds, residence events, and the occasional crisis involving first-year students, we became friends.

A few months later, James invited Emily to the Queen's Pub, split a pitcher with her, and said, "I think we should date."

Emily said, "Okay."

James replied, "I'm going to need more than okay for this one."

Thankfully, it worked out.

After graduation we spent a year doing long distance before building a life together in Toronto. After nearly eleven years of dating, James proposed in the fall of 2025, in Kingston, where it all began.

Instead of "Will you marry me?", he asked a question we'd been saying to each other for years:

"Can I keep you forever?"

This time, Emily's answer was yes.

Now we're excited to celebrate with all of you in Toronto.

Good to Know

Can I bring a guest?

Please check your invitation for details. If your RSVP includes a plus-one, you are welcome to bring them!

Are children welcome?

Yes. When you RSVP, you'll be able to include your children and let us know about any dietary restrictions or allergies.

How do I get from the ceremony to the reception?

St. Basil's and Sassafraz are about a 10-minute walk apart (or a 5-minute drive). There will be plenty of time between the ceremony and cocktail hour, so there's no need to rush.

Are both venues accessible?

Yes. St. Basil's has an accessible entrance to the right of the main doors, with a ramp and elevator. Sassafraz has an elevator to the second floor, where the reception will be held.

Where can I park?

St. Basil's

  • Free parking is available along the St. Basil's driveway

  • Free weekend street parking is available on St. Joseph Street.

  • Paid parking is available at Alumni Hall and the Manulife Centre.

Sassafraz

  • Paid parking is available nearby at the Green P lot on Yorkville Avenue and at the private lot on Critchley Lane.

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Before and after Mass, snap away. During the ceremony itself, we'd ask that phones stay put away out of respect for the Mass. We promise our photographer has it covered!

Is transportation provided between the reception and hotels?

No shuttle is planned. The hotel options listed on our website are all within walking distance of the reception venue.

What should I expect if I've never attended a Catholic wedding?

We'll be celebrating a full Catholic wedding Mass, which is a bit longer than a typical ceremony. There will be readings, prayers, and moments when guests stand, sit, or kneel. You're welcome to participate as much or as little as you're comfortable with, and we'll provide a program to help guide you through the service.

Do you have a registry?

Your presence is the only gift we need. We're grateful you're celebrating with us!
